Skool vs Mighty Networks

Pick Skool for the lowest fees and a chance at discovery, since Pro's 2.9% + $0.30 already includes card processing. Pick Mighty Networks if you run livestreams and want to keep member emails and your own domain. The deciding factor is ownership: Mighty gives you your own Stripe account and member data, and Skool does not.

On $10,000 a month: Skool $9,511, Mighty Networks $9,315. How we calculate this.

Pick Skool if

  • take-home pay matters most. It is cheaper than Mighty Networks at almost every revenue level.
  • you have no audience and want Discovery to send you members.
  • you want the simplest setup, with two plans and the same feature list on both.

Pick Mighty Networks if

  • you want member emails and your own Stripe account.
  • you run regular livestreams or courses with quizzes.
  • you need a custom domain from your first paid plan.

Which is cheaper, Skool or Mighty Networks?

Skool is cheaper at almost every revenue level. Skool Pro is $99 a month with 2.9% + $0.30 per sale, processing included. Mighty Networks Launch is $95 a month plus 2% and Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30.

At $3,000 a month in sales, the percentage fees are about $87 on Skool Pro and $147 on Mighty Launch, with the same $0.30 per payment on both. The fee table has the full curve.

Which lets you keep your members?

Mighty Networks. Web payments go to your own Stripe account, every plan includes a custom domain, and Launch and above can download the full member list with names and emails.

Skool is merchant of record and pays you through a Stripe Express account it creates. Its help center documents an export of membership question answers, not a full member list, and the custom URL lives on skool.com.

Which is better for live events and courses?

Mighty Networks lists more for both. Its plans include livestreaming with set hours and viewer caps, quizzes, cohort courses, and automatic badges and certificates. Launch includes 20 streaming hours a month and 100 viewers per stream, and Engagement Boosts raise viewers to as many as 3,000 for up to $225 a month extra.

Skool's pricing page lists unlimited courses, videos, and live calls on both plans. If you run a weekly call and a course library, that covers it for less. Read the full Skool review and Mighty Networks review for the details.

Frequently asked questions

Does Skool or Mighty Networks charge Stripe fees?

Mighty Networks does, on top of its 2%, 1%, or 0.5% fee. Skool's fee already includes card processing.

Can I move from Skool to Mighty Networks?

Yes, but paying members have to subscribe again, because Skool processes payments on its own merchant account. Mighty's Growth plan includes migration services.

Which has the cheaper starter plan?

Skool Hobby at $9 a month, against $35 for Mighty's Explore plan and $95 for Launch. Hobby takes 10% + $0.30 per sale, so move to Skool Pro once you earn about $1,270 a month.

Which pays out faster, Skool or Mighty Networks?

Skool pays every Wednesday. Mighty Networks web payments go straight to your own Stripe account and follow Stripe's payout schedule, while iOS sales arrive about one month behind.
